PR3XTRA JMRI question

This is probably a dumb question, but,,, here goes. I'm planning to buy the Digitrax PR3XTRA programmer, and a few Digitrax sound decoders... now, I don't have a layout yet, and I still don't know what DCC system I'll be using (right now, I just lay EZ Track, and use the EZ Commander when I want to run my trains) so this isn't about how to run a DCC layout, but rather, this is a question about the capabilities of the Digitrax PR3XTRA.

Electronic solder flux

I have seen in videos on MR Video plus as well as on TrainmasterTV  and on the internet the use of flux for electronic soldering. Once at a Narrow Gauge Convention I saw a dealer selling Carr's Orange (I believe) flux which will make solder work better without corroding electronic circuits. I have looked online and not been successful. Where can one purchase flux made for electronic projects like Carr's Orange or similar?  Any other suggestion out there?

A cheap and easy Automatic Block Signal System

I have recently released my "Cheap and Easy Automatic Block Signal System".  This is an ABS system that does not need a computer, programming, and except for the signal connections does not involve any soldering.  This system has been installed on three layouts ranging from medium to large to very large.  This system is available from Model Railroad Control Systems at this link:

Back into signal installs again...

So I've had a little timeout from the layout over the last few weeks.  Two weeks with school holidays, and some extra projects around the house before winter sets in.

speed matching

I have heard the term used and I understand the need for speed matching; but, has anyone posted the specific procedure as to how to speed match a DCC locomotive? In other words, How do you do it ?

Multi-decoder decoder lock - weird results

Hi all,

I have a steam engine in which I'm using a Digitrax DZ123 decoder for motor/lighting control and a Digitrax SFX006 soundbug decoder for sound.  I'm now trying to program them using the decoder lock feature and I'm running into a couple of problems.

Help with Tortoise frog power

Thanks for reading this. I have my SMAILs/Tortoise machines installed and programmed with my NCE system. However my frogs are not getting power? I have them wired to #4. Do I need to program a CV?
Thanks!!!
