EMF setting problem on Rapido LRC locomotive

I have a Rapido LRC locomotive I'm trying to get running smoothly.

Several times I've done what Rapido calls the "awesome slow speed thingy" in the manual (setting CV54=0, and the pushing F1). After the most recent run of this, the LRC has these CV readings:

One Evening Project - Portable DCC Programming Bench

When I started to build my Office Park Zone layout, I decided to replace my old Digitrax Zephyr with an NCE PowerCab. The Zephyr doesn't support functions above F9, and the PowerCab has nicer ergonomics for a small layout. While the PowerCab can handle DCC programming without a booster, it doesn't have a separate programming output, so the entire layout becomes a programming track.

LokSound Select sound file question

I just ordered a new LokSound Select decoder.  Does it come with the latest Alco sound files as shown on ESU's web site, or do I need to download and install them using the LokProgrammer?

Unveiling the working ProtoThrottle

We unveiled the working ProtoThrottle at this year’s St. Louis RPM, and from all indications modelers really enjoyed it.

LokPilot and Full Throttle

Any news on updating the LokPilot to the Full Throttle features.   Had heard the ESU was working on this but nothing since, anyone know how they are doing on this?

i have successfully installed the Heljan turntable and I am having a difficult time with connecting to my Z21. I have tried the address schedule shown in the instructions using an accessory switch in the command station and set the controller of the turntable to the track setting no luck!

any one succeeded in getting it to work?

Configuring Four Sugar Cube Speakers

Thanks for the suggestions on the previous blog on configuring three 16 mm diameter tablet speakers. I am applying some of those suggestions in this blog piece. The focus is installing three 13mm X 18mm X 13mm and one 11mm X 15mm x 12mm speakers each in two Athearn RTR diesels using recently unemployed Tsunami GN1000 decoders.

MTH PA/PB DC Conversion to ESU LokSound

The ESU website is an excellent resource for product information and installation assistance for the Select family of decoders. If you are using the LokProgrammer V4.0, you will find its support literature there, too.

The ESU LokProgrammer speeds the task as it employs macros to set some functions which otherwise would require multiple CV entry. Similar to Decoder Pro, which also works, it interfaces  through your computer once you make the easy connections and download the free software.

LCC - it's not replacing DCC, it's adding to it.

I brought up LCC (Layout Command Control) in another thread and was asked by someone if they would have to replace all their decoders... in short, LCC is not replacing DCC.

Instead, LCC is a separate standard for doing things that DCC, which really has limited bandwidth, shouldn't be.
