MRC DCC

My MRC Prodigy Express DCC System has been in storage for about 4 years.

I am now wiring it up and I have a problem.

Nothing is working on it.

When I plug it in, the Pilot and the Link lights are both flashing.

Not sure what the problem is.

Any help would be appreciated.

Peco electrofrog weird behavior

Can someone help me. I am having really weird electrical performance from one Peco electro-frog turnout. Power to the frog and its wing rail and a short portion of the closure rails is supplied/controlled by the turnouts tortoise.  When the power (DCC)is on and no loco is in the turnout I have a touch over 14 volts. When a loco enters the area of the wing rail of the frog and the frog (from either direction) the voltage on the two parts drops to a touch over 3 volts. For longer locos this is not a problem but for short wheel based locos they get trapped there.

Peco Insul-Frog Turnouts

I have over 100 Peco Insul-Frog Turnouts on my layout and am having constant trouble with Loco's (mostly steam) shorting when they cross the frog rails in these turnouts. This is a real distraction when we are trying to have a Operating session and even more so with sound Locos, sound going on and off. I have found that the insulator piece between the frog rails is so inconsistent, some are wide and some are very close together. I have tried heavy duty finger nail polish sometime it works other times not so much. I am at my wits end trying to fix this.

ProtoThrottle production updates

Now that the initial run of ProtoThrottles is in production, we will be providing updates as the process progresses.

All the faceplates have been machined and will be inspected, packed, and shipped for anodizing. The printed circuit board and associated receivers are being fabricated.

More to come later…

NCE Power Panel dimensions?

Anyone have dimensions for the cutout to your fascia for the NCE PCP Power Panel? I am working on a T-Trak module design and I don't have my panel at hand. I also can't seem to find the info from NCE or anywhere online...

Thanks!

Installing My First DCC Decoder

Hey All, looking for a little assistance. I installed the ESU LokSound Select in my Bowser and the movement works. I still need to solder speakers to the wires  for sound. I have a question and the Bowser website wasn't giving me the info I need. They do have instructions for retrofitting DCC Sound to their locos BUT none of their instructions show the board I have... When I asked them for help they just wanted me to buy a kit from them not help me with what I already purchased.

21 pin board and decoder.
