DCC Question - First DCC "System"
Hi all,
I'm looking at the NCE Power Cab 2 Amp DCC Starter Set for my first DCC "System".
I'm looking to control two locomotives with it and one track switch at the moment.
Thoughts? The price is "nice".

DCC Question - How to control track switch
Hi all,
Not sure if this question should go in the Newbie area or the DCC area.
I decided it was a DCC topic from a Newbie! Ha, ha!
I have a very small layout. It is quite simple as it is my very first one. It has one track switch in the layout.
What is the "item" that is needed in the DCC world to control that track switch?
I believe I will need to purchase one of these "items".
Thank you,
JR
First DCC System?
So after spending the past year working on a DC layout I decided I should go DCC. One locomotive is already DCC Ready a Bowser GE UB25 the other is not a Proto 2000 Alco S9. I'll worry about the S9 later I am pretty sure Tim at Maine Modelworks can convert it for me.
So I have no idea what system to get!

Newbie - Go to DCC directly? Why/Why not?
Hi all,
Well, now I have a table made and a track layout built.
Next I'd like to buy an actual train, ha, ha! ;)
But first I need to decide DC vs DCC.
I'm thinking I might just go right to DCC rather than DC.
Any reasons not to? I'm an IT guy, so I understand the technical stuff pretty quick.
Right now I'm reading a DCC book by Kalmbach.
Thoughts?
Thanks, JR

Help with UR92 LEDs - No power to the track
Hi everyone
I have a DCS210 with a UR92 attached. I have switched it on today to find that the red and green leds on the UR92 are on with them both flashing. I have power to the track but cannot control any locos.
Something must have happened but I can't find anything in the documentation that tells me what might be wrong. As far as I can see, nothing has changed from last night when it was working so I am confused. Any help would be appreciated.

Walthers Proto 2000 GP60 and SD45 non sound decoder
Hi all
Does anyone have a non sound decoder recommendation for the current Walthers Proto 2000 GP60 and SD45?
I do have an older GP60 and IIRC it wasn't a simple install so I am wondering if the current run has the same wiring.

Detection Section Help (For Signaling)
I am hoping a more experienced person will be willing to look at my track plan. I am setting up detection sections which will be used for signaling in the future. I'm not sure if this is correct/accurate when it comes to the sections near the switches. I wast to be sure before I cut any gaps. I am not sure if I have too many/not enough or if the sections breaks are to close or far away from the switches. I want to limit my detection sections to 32. I am using AnyRail.
