Has anyone used one of these - TCS Train Control Systems / UWT-100 Universal WiFi Throttle
I'm wanting a remote controller and I already have a NCE Pro cab and was interested in their wireless option but then I saw this on the Ken Patterson show Has anyone used one of these - TCS Train Control Systems / UWT-100 Universal WiFi Throttle. Not sure how it works in with my NCE but apparently it does and I was looking for any other options as I have a layout room and now a display room with live track and this .might be a flexible option.
Best ways to deal with strict operators who refuse to understand they're not running a real railroad
New poster here. After checking the archives and not finding what I looking for I decided to make an account to see if anyone might be able to offer some advice for a major issue the model railroad club I belong to has been facing for the past year and a half. As we all know, Model Railroading is supposed to be a fun hobby. It's supposed to be a hobby where you get a chance to build and run your own miniature railroad empire and share the fun with your fellow modelers.
PCB for 2011 Crossing Grade and Flasher Circuit
I have zero luck in contacting Rob Paisley. If someone out there has an extra PCB for the 2011 Grade Crossing Flasher and Gate Control Circuit I would like to purchase it, or get a photo of the backside of the circuit board..
Thanks
Dean
Operations Testing
I got tired of doing scenery so I switched to running trains. Over the couple of weeks, I have been testing the first section of my "Train Sequence Schedule". The first 6 of 19 trains scheduled during the 0001 AM - 0600 AM time frame have been run so far and I have had to make some changes as to where trains are parked in the staging level as well as in Union Station.
Time at (P&WV) N&W Clairton Yard
The P&WV(N&W) Clairton Yard interchanges with The Union Railroad. The Belt Local with services the yard twice a day is here in the morning to do some switching. As the Belt Local enters the yard the Union Railroad with Crew #53 is coming down the hill on the Mifflin Branch to Mifflin Junction. After doing there switching the Belt local has some foreign road power on the head end .
Introducing a Newcomer to TT/TO
The discussion on Lightweight Ops contained a number of posts about TT/TO and the point that it is not for novices. But we were all novices at some time. I wanted to explain a local approach to introducing new operators to TT/TO. This is not the only way and I am sure that others have different ways of accomplishing the same thing.
Online operations game
Hi, I would like to have a fun operations game.
A train is sent into the world. Anyone can pick it up, switch out some cars and send it on with a picture. There is no need to match the equipment being sent, just have some fun.
Please keep the train reasonably short and state your railroad station.
Have fun
Trackplanning --> Hand Laying : Geometry headspace?
Dear MRHers,
I was musing over some of the recent threads RE Handlaying VS RTR trackwork options,
and that one of the significant benefits of handlaying turnouts was
"the modeller is not limited to fixed, whole-number, or only the frog-angles-commercially-available geometry".
Now, I'm not saying that this isn't true from a raw "what One can build" standpoint,,
but it did send me off down a kinda "chicken and egg" hole, IE:
