Some More Benchwork Progress, and a Short Switching Session
In this video I share what's new with my layout, as well as some track planning thoughts and progress on the club layout module. Enjoy!
KCS Layouts
Since Kansas City Southern has been in the news lately about a possible merger with either the Canadian Pacific or Canadian National, it made me wonder if there were any layouts built that primarily featured KCS.
Nothing came to mind, but I found a couple:
1. An excellent layout featuring the KCS 3rd Subdivision in Oklahoma set in 1982.
VIA Rail Operations at Trenton Junction
Testing my VIA engines today on my layout, the Trenton Subdivision in N Scale, in anticipation of the arrival of the new Canadian 10 coach set by Rapido Trains Inc.
Walkin' the Road Job
It may be difficult to appreciate how much walking is involved in rail operations. In fact, this may be even more so in modern operations ever since they got rid of the buggies (cabooses) and eliminated the front and rear end brakeman, and moved the conductor to the head end. Yet reverse movements still need to be protected so on road trains, this often means the conductor has to walk the length of the train multiple times.
