Bluerail train control

Hello to all;

As a long-time reader, and a (very) short-time subscriber, I'm one of those types that have only recently become involved after many years of kids/family/dormancy, etc.  That being said, I'm basically still in the "dark" (read all-DC only) ages. All of my (old) lighting is 110v.  In light of these revelations, and after following every bit of information I could find, both here at MRH & websites, I've just ordered my first "Blue Horse, the Blue-tooth board designed & manufactured by Dave Rees & Bluerail Trains.

Wetterau Food Services Micro Layout

Introduction:

The Wetterau Food Services Micro Layout was completed in February of 2016.  Layout planning and construction began in 2014.  I am currently enjoying operations on the layout, and wanted to share the steps I followed in building this micro layout here on MRH.   I  have learned quite a bit in building it, and hope you will find it informative.

Savannah Area Model Railroading

Hi All,
Within the last couple months, I moved my family from the Denver, Colorado area to the Savannah, Georgia area. We are finally settled in and I am wanting to get a layout started, but additionally, I need to find some ops sessions.
Does anyone know if there is anyone hosting ops in this area? Also, is there a good hobby shop around?
Thanks,
Kevin

See you in St. Louis!

Nathan and I will once again be in St. Louis, August 12th and 13th, representing Iowa Scaled Engineering at the St. Louis Railroad Prototype Modeler's Meet.  In addition to our normal assortment of electronic products for model railroading, we have some new things this year:

- 2pc IR sensor, based on the highly reliable original design but smaller and more flexible

- Brackets for mounting servos and the MRServo turnout controllers (free with any MRServo purchase at the show!)

IAIS's West End - Converting to Loksound

I've long been a vocal proponent of Tsunami decoders, and especially their ability to be configured with a working independent brake and coast/idle function.  I even went so far as to remove and sell the Loksound decoders from four Intermountain factory-equipped SD40-2s and use the proceeds to buy replacement Tsunamis.  I'd heard that ESU was working on adding support of similar braking and coast functions, but Tsunamis already had it, so I foolishly thought the best ESU would do was to "catch up".

Z scale

Does anyone know of anyone that has built and operates a Z scale layout? Furthermore, has anyone had an operating session on a Z scale layout? Would be interesting to know.

Looking at our Model Railroad shop here in Mississauga, Canada, Credit Valley, the Z scale equipment is limited. Can you imagine working on those little detail parts? Any experience with Z scale would be fun for a discussion.

Happy Modeling in any scale!

cheers,

Brad

Double Main Tracks to Single Main Track Free Mo Module - Signaling, Control, and Operation

Hi everyone,

I am doing a small shelf layout but wanted to experiment with signaling. I plan to do a free mo module (3' long) modeling a location just a mile or two east of Kandiyohi, Minnesota. It is now BNSF, but was originally Great Northern. It is CTC-operated and is set up with two main tracks (operation in both directions) converging into a single main track. My question has several parts:

Colorado Front Range - How to build a control panel on JMRI: Panel Editor

Every wonder how to build a control panel in JMRI, or what it would take to get my computer to control my turnouts or for that madder anything. We here is a simple How to Video on Panel Editor 101 this will at least get you started on a panel and see what it will take and maybe open your eye to the possibilities. This is a simple project to get start on.

Hope it helps someone.

Mike
