Santa Fe M.O.W. Consist on a Budget
I was starting to think about modeling a (partially) prototype-inspired Santa Fe 1950's M.O.W. consist using older '70's equipment (aka Athearn, AHM, Tyco, etc), starting with what I have on hand.
This photo appears to be older than the period I want to model, judging by the paint scheme of the crane. However it gives me a general idea of where I'm going.

The Shay jungle (lack of them)
Haven't been doing much in the hobby lately but kind of got drawn back in by mention of an HO scale MDC G&D Shay on that e-mail group. It was up for sale on E-bay and I bid and lost. That set up a search around there looking for Shays and several candidates emerged, most the MDC. Someone correct me if I'm wrong but those are not regarded as the best models to begin with and need a lot of work and TLC to ever get them to run right.

My Ambulance in N Scale
During 37 years as a frontline #Paramedic, model building and model railroading was my destresser from the difficult calls of the profession. Now retired, my profession has crept into my hobby.
Just completed this N Scale (1:160) model of my old Ambulance, that I spent many years responding in.
Confession of an airbrush wimp
I enjoy stripping cars and locos down to bare plastic and repainting/decalling them. For the last few years I’ve been using spray cans to include Rustoleum, Krylon, and various hobby brands. Results have been sometimes very good but usually inconsistent and I knew deep down it was time to move to an airbrush. Plus the weathering possibilities are very intriguing. I even picked up a Badger Patriot 105 and a little spray booth last year but have been intimidated by the whole thing....

CN MOW Trucks -Project Completed
Just completed two CNR Maintenance-of-Way vehicles to add to my layout, the Trenton Subdivision in N Scale. These are resin and metal casting, Magnuson Models Hi-Rail crew cab trucks that I purchased several years ago. Decals are Highball Graphics CN MOW, Microscale Canadian flags and Hazmat placards. For the solid cast windows, I first applied a layer of gloss black, followed by a coat of Tamiya Clear Green.

Scenery Progress
Some more scenery completed, light posts installed. For depth perception for some of the trees I have shaved off half of the foliage. This allows me to place them directly against the back wall.
The pencils stabilize the trees until the glue is fully set.

WIP Update.
Started laying some of the scenery over the weekend. Intermodal scene is beginning to blend into my Trenton Subdivision in N Scale. Tracks are ballasted with some low growing weeds starting to creep on the edges of the right of way. Oily-black weathering powder along the tracks, heavier between the rails.
