Zigbee Tablet - Wireless Control

Guys,

Our new Zigbee tablets are shipping next week.

The tablet has Android 4.0.3, 2GB DDR3, 32GB or 64GB HDD, 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth, and Zigbee 2.4 GHz integrated.

The tablet can be used as a cell phone, home, commercial, industrial, or medical interfaces through Android based applications.

We have several motor control modules in production that integrate a Zigbee antenna. Through the tablet you can control these devices embedded in your locomotives or layout. Add our new Li-PO batteries and you have a control system that does not require track power except for recharge tracks.

A bit of a decoder puzzle

I am a bit puzzled about which decoder one of my engines should take.

Its a Kato EMD SD45 (CP 5494)

According to TCS and Litchfield Station this should take the K1D4 decoder but when I open the shell I have a split board configuration and the engine is clearly not "drop in" ready. It looks like a CN-GP would be more appropriate.

Did Kato release a non-DCC version of the SD-45 way back when. If so, has anyone converted it to DCC?

Thanks

MRC Sounder Decoders #1908 & #1909?

DCC modelers,

MRC has introduced new sounder decoders. The steam is #1908, and the diesel is #1909.

Has any body installed and ran either of these for any length of time? If so what were the negative and positive results?

My only experience with MRC decoders was with a friends set of Genesis engines. The experience was not all positive. We shipped one back for a defective decoder. I hope the newer units will have a better track record than the older decoders.

Anyone used or built a LocoIO?

Hello all,

I have seen the web page for the LocoIO kits, and am very interested in building some for use on my layout.

Has anyone had any experience with these? Also, where can the kits be purchased?

From the looks of the schematic, I could get most of the parts to build one, except that I have no way of programming the PIC, or etching the board.

Thanks,

Andrew

FREEMO signaling

Does anyone have experience with running a signal system on a FREEMO layout?

What works and what does not work? How is the best way to set this sort of thing up?
