I have Joe F's "short from hell" ... Help!
You would think I could find an electrical problem on a 2' x 8' DCC layout. I am posting more info below.
Bye Bye to the Northern California Consolidated
Well, this is the beginning of the blog to track my progress of an N-scale endeavor.
Three road names of Western Pacific, Southern Pacific and Santa Fe.
As you can see the pics show the layout as a round the room...the duck under was low enough that my dear wife whacked her head three times in a row in less than a 5 minute time span, no joke. So I, yes I, decided to move it, because it was built to move, to the garage for a while.
paragon 2 locos
G'day mates!
Raymond here from "down under".
Are there any issues running the Broadway Limited - Paragon2 locos. I use a DCC controloler from hornby, a pommy (English) firm who have a reputation for non complience. Do the Paragon2 things work OK with NCE or Digitrack?
ESU help!
HI all. I have been doing some ESU Loksound Select installs, mostly the FDL 16 in my P42's and EMD 710 in my EMD locos. I got the idea to try their latest V4 (the $150 pricey new released decoder) to see if it had any better sounds like the air compressor on the FDL 16 modern than the older select version. (so far haven't noticed a difference in sounds, but I haven't been able to find a sound modification CV table either).
advice on MTH Cab Forward problem
I short circuited the track that my MTH Cab Forward was standing on. I cannot get sound now. I have pressed F3 (turns sound on) and F6 (sound toggle) to no avail. No sound at all.
The unit runs okay.
What is the damage and how can I rectify this problem?

Installing DCC in my brass 2-8-2
This is the second part of my adventure of installing DCC in my brass K-27 2-8-2. The first part involved installing a four function decoder in the smoke box. This decoder controls the headlight, classification marker lights, cab light and firebox light.
Working bell on Blackstone K27
Those interested in seeing a HOn3 Blackstone K-27 with a working bell swinging in sync with the ringing (Tsunami sound) can see this locomotive at the Mid-Atlantic Narrow Gauge Group (MANGG) meeting to be held mid May -
Here is the link to the meeting -

This loco is the first with a working bell to be in the USA.
