Ned Help -- Correct Canon & Co. fans for SP SD-9 and GP-9's
Hello all,
I'd like to replace the fans on my P2K SD9 and GP9's but I'm having trouble knowing which ones would be appropriate. I do' not see a correct replacement from Canon and company listed. Which 36 and 48 would work for mid 70's GRIP program 9E/R's?
Also referencing the picture in the link below there is an odd flat top 36" fan on the rear of this GP9. What would be appropriate?

What's on your workbench ?
Haven't seen one for January. So here goes.
I've spent all day designing and laser cutting this building. So far the frame is done. I know Michael R can whip one out in minutes, but I'm an amateur. I think I'll call this Richard's Fine Furniture.
SD45 Handrail Stanchions
I'm rebuilding a Proto 2000 SD45 to Northern Pacific standards. As the NP had 4 side windows on its SD45 cabs it required an entirely different handrail arrangement where they attached to the cab.
Does any company make an accurate set of stanchions for use on an SD45. I did this to an old Rail Products shell years ago but can't remember what stanchions I used. They were accurate and made from brass or copper berylium.

Hi guys your help please I have one of these locos and with the exception of the airhorn, the cab has no other roof details. What other parts do I need to mirror the protype and where do can I source these from. Has anyone got any cab photos to help me with placement?
The front handrail above the anticlimber is broken and I have a part missing can you get replacement plastic handrails?
Many thanks in advance.
Kind regards
Nick
SPSF Meadow Sub: Atlas B23-7 and GP39-2 Kodachromes
This blog is a journal on repainting two 4-axle locomotives for my SPSF local service on the Meadow Sub.
Finally got to some painting
I finally started to paint some locos with my railroad's paint scheme.
Pictured locos started out as undecorated units. I started out painting them all white and let them dry over night. Then masked out what I wanted to stay white. Then painted the red let that dry over night and masked what was going to be red then painted the blue. Unmasked everything but windows of one Genset 2. Again let it dry over night. Today I put the first coat of clear gloss. When it is dry next will be the decals then matt clear coat.
Goals for 2016??
I worked on creating goals at the end of 2015 and due to life was not able to keep many of them. I did modify my goals halfway through the year in order to have some sense of accomplishment. For 2016 I have created a a short list of goals I would like to have finished by the end of the year.
Otter Creek Railway: (yet another) returning to my HO railway ideas...
Hello again, it's been so very very long since I've been here, things have been rough for me. High school begun, new forms of stress, and personal matters are keeping me far busier than ever before. I even find it hard to set aside time for my art. However, recently, I found myself thinking about new equipment for my O gauge collection. Then, I started thinking about EMD BL-2s. Unfortunately, BL-2s in O gauge tend to be rather... Ehh....
A walk down Memory Lane
Growing up I had a train table above the garage that I built my first layout on. It was built for me after we remodeled our house tand consisted of two 4x8 sheets of plywood in an 'L' shape. I spent many hours laying out track and building a some what prototype based layout. I never could get the switch machines to work right and was only moderately successful in placing a few caboose ground throws. My rolling stock consisted of the typical Bachman Tyco and Athearn with a variety of equally poorly running motive power.
