North American TT - Why?

On one of my random web searches this morning, I came across a forum discussing North American TT modeling.  Now, I'm all for oddball models, scales, and gauges, but as I read of the difficulties of finding models, having to use rebuilt toys, and regauging HO or N scale mechanisms to use on 12 mm track, I found myself wondering, why would anyone bother?

Trains In General

General train related Photo's, and Videos, that I find interesting.

Eeebox Store

I was wondering if anyone here has had any experience with Eeebox Store. They have a $600 Bridgewerks magnum power supply for $150. Sounds tempting and everything I have learned so far about Eeebox is that it is a website selling direct from Chinese manufacturers. So does anyone here know anything about them?

Leo Landers

I'm sad to announce that my friend Leo Landers passed away last Monday. Leo was survived by his wife Barb and a plethora of children.

If you worked for the SP&S in the 40's thru the 80's you might have met Leo as he held jobs starting from car knocker to road engineer. While working as a motive power hostler Leo had the opportunity to drive the SP&S 700 (4-8-4), one of the two Northern class locos still operating out of Portland Oregon (the other is the SP 4449).

Suggest article topic JMRI tutorial

I would like to suggest an article, maybe even a column about using JMRI productively. MRH has the advantage of unlimited space which would allow for screen shots with the text.

I don't know if others are as thick as I am, but I know I would get a lot out of any article.

Food for thought?

Same procedure as last year! I like to share my free downloadable calender
available at my modellcom-blog. Sorry, but the site is only in german, but you
may use the translation function to get a little idea about what is going on
there (railroads, real and model and cardmodeling).

Sugar Beet Guy's picture

It Was the Day Before Christmas in Northern Colorado

The last beet train before Christmas rumbles past the Birds elevator and crosses I-25 on its way to Loveland. It is a long held tradition in Loveland that bad boys and girls will get a rotten sugar beet in their Christmas stocking instead of coal. You better be good!
