....And That's When I Ran Out of Roadbed

Sudbury return loop

Up there, circled in red, this afternoon. Needless to say I am now waaay behind the goal I set for Labour Day. Actual track-laying has been delayed by a lack of turnouts, as other priorities intervened this fall. C'est la vie. That's the Sudbury return loop, with the Webbwood Sub curving around towards the right wall. The helices will sit on on top of Sudbury and the whole thing will be enclosed.

Look At Your Lighting

I mentioned in a recent post that I needed to address the lighting on the layout. I don't have a great great camera and the lighting was just not bright enough in the room to compensate for my lack of skill at taking quality pictures. And so I decided to replace that old light bulb hanging from the ceiling with something that might throw a bit more light on the layout. I ended up getting a cool looking track lighting fixture.

Free-moN: At Home and On The Road

As it seems my Free-moN modules have now become my "home layout", thought I'd start a new thread featuring the whole kit-n-keboodle rather than individual modules.

'Twas a busy weekend: on Saturday I set up all my modules in my garage to 1) troubleshoot, 2) see it if fit in my garage (a "California Basement") and 3) run trains!
Only took about a kabillion hours to get everything going, but once it did...!

Plans... They Are-a-Changin'

If you've been following our series of blogs (and much to my surprise, there are quite a few) then you already know the story. This past May, I lost my friend and father-in-law soon after having lost my own father. My father was a rabid model railroader, and I too, was bitten at an early age. My father-in-law shared no such interest, but the circumstances surrounding his passing left us with an eight by eighteen foot moving van body smack dab in the middle of our front yard.

How do you categorize your YouTube videos?

Every time I post a video on YouTube, I scratch my head as to how I'm supposed to categorize my Model Railroad Videos. I usually put them under "Howto & Style" or "Gaming" or maybe evern "Education" or "Entertainment". None of the choices seem to fit what the video is about, so I usually also add lot's of tags.
