My " Great Western Railroad"

I have started My new Great Western Railroad in a small bedroom. It will be along 3 walls . I have the track  for the GW Shops and the GW Sugar factory laid down and so I ran My first train today.   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z7x3xwxoFv8

It has been some time since I've posted here. The reason is because my railroad has come to an abruped stop. Just after xmas we were informed that we might have to move because of the business building on the land that I live on was foreclosed on. In Jan.

22 Stories up - OPS Session - testing the three troubled turnouts

At long last, Norman W and I were able to get together for an afternoon (it's been quite a few months!), an exciting development for me, as I wanted a "real" ops session over the replaced curved turnout sets of module 3.

New (old) Reefer Car

Many of you have come to realize my uncle is a very eccentric. He has more money than he knows what to do with it yet he ends up buying junk for his railroad and then expects me to make it run perfect. Oh, and of course don't spend much money doing so! There are broken hinges, missing steps and screeching noises when any part is moved. Better get to work...

Agribusiness - Industry on the 8th Sub

Since I'm about to start scenery around the town of Milton, I decided to finish a few structures to make sure they'll fit in as intended.  These won't be 100% done until they have a completed scene around them, but in their present state should give an idea of how the place will look.

"Shoo-fly" Free-moN Module (2'x6')

Ever since reading John Armstrong's Track Planning for Realistic Operations I've been intrigued by his drawing of a "shoofly" (page 123, 3rd ed.). It's a simple scene of track diverted over a fill while a crew repaired / rebuilt a bridge over a small stream, yet contained the possibility of multiple "stories" within the scene (not only the work on the rails, but the land just outside of railroad property: orchards, farms, roads, forests, etc.)

So I designed a 2'x6' "Shoofly" module:

RailDriver/JMRI/Bachmann On30 Climax = Awesome Fun

At Trainfestival 2009 I had purchased  a  RailDriver® Desktop Train Cab Controller in hopes of one day integrating it with my DCC controller and JMRI software. I have reached the point where it is in testing. I have posted a video on my Youtube channel. Click the link if you wish. Please leave a comment here or on the Youtube Video page with your thoughts. Thanks,

Rob Teed

New Weed Car

My uncle, the owner of Grizzly Creek & Grumpy Flats Railroad, decided he needed a car to keep control of the weeds along his rails. He found an old Union Pacific flat car, an old scrap tank and told me to make him a "weed car". Horace, the black cat is even part of the crew.

RMS - ...And So It Begins...

I bought a future railroad, with a house on top!

Finally, after several issues with the lending company, I now own a house. Better yet, it comes with an unfinished basement! The future home of the Rocky Mountain Southern & Great Plains is secure. I am moving in even as I type this post.
