Hi
My name is Alex & I'm from Queensland, Australia.
I would like to say this is the best/perfect site (MRH) I have found for model railroading.
Congratulations on a great resource, magazine etc, etc.

Turnout Operations
One thing that has been bothering me as I worked on the layout is how to operate the turnouts in the Deseronto yard. I had been going down the path of using power operation everywhere but the wiring was bothering me, to say nothing of the cost of all the gear required. The yard has 26 actuators, including four double slips, so that is a fairly high density for installing things, to say nothing of the collection of wire under the benchwork.
The Canadian On Tour
OK, after FINALLY catching up on 5 pages of posts because I was away for a bit more than a week, I thought I'd post some pictures from my adventure yesterday to see Jason Shron of Rapido Trains show off the latest samples of his HO Canadian and FP9's. Yesterday, he was at Fun Time Hobby and Cycle in Red Deer, AB, so I thought I'd rent a car and make the 6 hour drive from Saskatoon and check it out.

Why Some Model Railroaders Can Seem Quite Mad
The goal of my modeling efforts is to create a perfect little world. There are a few obstacles to achieving my goal, namely careless project planning, sloppy work habits and moving on the next thing before getting the task at hand completed. Perhaps if I embarrass myself enough times by posting here, my work habits might improve.
