Rock Island U-25-B 250
I just finished weathering my Bowser(Stewart) Rock Island U-25-B. Found it on E-bay came painted yellow for Oregon, CA & Eastern. I simply painted it and used High Ball graphics set 218. Wow. What a headache this project turned out to be! I will go into detail sometime in a future article.

I want to build a Large Cement Plant. Looking for suggestions.
I model N scale. I have the Corner stone HO Valley Cement Kit. I plan on converting it into an N scale plant by changing the doors and windows.Replacing ladders, stairs, But keeping the building size to reflect the size plant down in Southern California. I have a 4 foot square area to place the plant. But may only us two foot square area to build it. I also have the silos and support building i may need for this projects. My other hope is to switch in and out 30 to 60 two bay cement cars, Tool parts cars, Coal, aggregate, Sand, to be taken it to support the plant.
Bachmann DCC Sound S4 Died During Programming - Help?
A couple months ago, I purchased a Bachmann DCC Sound Value S4 to use at my sand pit industry and it ran really well. Then I repainted it, had some issues with it running, but worked on it and it was running great again.
Arduino Fire: Flicker and Glow VS On/Off Flash
Dear MRHers,
Am barrelling thru a layout speed-build right now, (details irrelevant to this post),
and need a pair of fire fx. Perfect opportunity to try a quick Arduino deployment.
Anyway, the Arduino is in and flickering away, and honestly, I'm disappointed...
The concept is cool, and the price is decent compared to commercial options,
but compared to the Audio-fire circuits I'm used to using, this looks more like lightening than fire....
Scaling down weight
I'm not sure if this is a Eureka! moment, or if I just reinvented the wheel, but.....

You will never know how thankfull I am for the modelers that are in my periphery. I am literally surrounded by amazing artists who are quite satisfied with their art, and less so with fame. To me, it is really humbling to see what the difference is between a wealthy modeler and one that scrapes by with only the tools he needs.
Like a cheapo camera and simple household lamps for "studio lighting"
The Placerville Branch - Dugan
I've spent several months working and making Dugan modelgenic. It's not finished yet, but it's coming along. Dugan was a station on the Placerville Branch and lasted til the line was abandoned in the 1980's. Its located between Latrobe down the hill and Shingle Springs not too far east. I've made it a TO (train order station) with lower quadrant Tomar built semaphore as well as being the designated maintenance crew point for the branch. Small cabins on the property allow the men some downtime from maintaining branch trackage.
