The Windsor, Colorado Sugar Beet High Line

I’m working on the final structure for the Windsor, Colorado sugar beet factory.   Windsor used a beet loading structure called a “high line”.  Although it’s not a common thing to model, I thought you may be interested in following along as I build it.

In Search of Cardstock

Cardstock is an essential material for frugal modeling. But, how to find it. It won't likely just appear. It takes some scrounging and thrifting, but the effort is worth it. Join me as I share some of my favorite sources for this versatile material, and some ideas for using it: http://joshuadewolfe.wordpress.com/2014/09/12/idea-2-in-search-of-cardstock-mrbg/

Question about paint pens for wathering track...

Hello all.

I have been working on weathering my track. It is all painted, and I am starting add rust to the rails. I have had pretty good result with the Woodland scenics rusty rail pens. But as it goes along the tip becomes very frayed. They do give you one extra tip. But I will need more.

Does anyone know where we can get more of these tips. The pens still have paint in them. All I need to do is buy more tips.

Thanks in advance.

I have completed the ballasting of the main yard for my layout, the Trenton Subdivision in N Scale.

The yard tacks are arranged from left to right;

Looking for old LL, MP "shorty" Passenger cars

Hello all. I am wanting to add some passenger cars to my layout. Here is the catch: I don't have a lot of funds laying around.  I have two OLD Life-Like passenger cars (60' scale length, train set quality) that I am working on fixing up to higher quality models. So far so good with the working on them.. But, I need to find more.
