DCC - Electrical

Is it just me???

Yesterday I went to the second operating session with my new "Broadway Limited, Paragon2 Series SD-40-2. It was basically a repeat of the first week. After a period of time, put the engine back is its box and get out my Bachman 2-8-0 to continue my local freight work.

SMD resistor part numbers

I would like to make my own resistor wheelsets using Intermountain axles and SMD resistors, but taking a glance on the digikey website, Im not sure which part number would be the right physical size for the resistors.

If there is a particular digikey part number you use when making your own resistor wheelsets Id like to know.

Automatic Reversing Device

I am planning to build a section of elevated subway that will run from point A to point B and back.  Is there any kind of device that will automatically stop the train at the end of the line, let it pause, and reverse direction and then repeat the sequence at the other end of the line?  I'm not sure if it matters, but my layout is DCC.

Thanks,

Peter Brown

Pics of Layout (In Progress)

Here are some picturess of my layout. Your comments are welcomed, but understand that I am not a purist nor a rivet counter. Nonetheless, I was wondering do others use "manual dispatching" relative to switches and signals on a DCC system like I do? My switches are 2 pole 6 ways that let me select which aspect I need. Secondly, my ballast looks much better in person than in the pictures. It is a cheap and neat way to do it, with paint. Also as you will notice I am much farther along on the area that has trees and grass. Pics to follow.    Kyle

Control Interoperability

Discussions concerning a question about "Radio Control Layout" have overflowed into considerations of basic control architectures and how they may or may not be operated together.  With the introduction of RailPro, the hobby has access to a new control system to be weighed against the many systems available.

2013 Goals for your Railroad Modeling?

In December 2011 Rick Wade started a thread on goals for 2012. http://model-railroad-hobbyist.com/node/6579

I thought it would be interesting to review my goals and see what I accomplished toward those goals. And also look at what I had done that wasn't included in my goals.
