Looking for cranes

I've been searching for some time for a model of a crane in ho scale that matches the attached picture. I have seen the one from Jordan Products, but being a steam driven crane isn't quite what I'm looking for. I had sourced something in the past, but lost my source due to a computer crash and have been pulling my hair out the last two days trying to find this. Anyone know where I can look? Needs to fit the 50s/60s.

Coloring deep water

I am using a wavy type of Lexan for a lakes freighter and Huelett scene. I am modeling the Erie docks in Cleveland Ohio. Any suggestions as to what color of paint I should use on the bottom side of the Lexan? If needed I will use a clear type of "water" treatment on the top surface. Any thoughts?

off-topic question about gluing

*** This is an off-topic question about gluing ***

I know this isn't technically train -related but my kid has a toy car, one of those large plastic tonka police car/trucks, that he absolutely loves and he's broken the back wheel off the axle. I tried gluing it back together with epoxy cement but it was only a few days before he broke it again... is there anything else I might try to fix this or is it history ?

Thanks

John

Redux

I am thinking of dismantling my layout and restructuring it. My point-to-point is about 60% finished but there are some considerations:

Real Track Work

Photo's of real tracks that I have come across in My wanderings...

louvred vents on loco shed

I am planning on scratch building the mallet house, which was in Thurmond WA. It had louvred vents along the top of the roof, I don't really want to scratch build these unless I have to. Does anyone know where I can get them from already made up.

Thanks

Shingle Siding

I want to do a model of my home when I was young that used the 12 x 24 asbestos shingles as siding. Anybody have an idea as to how to do this. I have found nothing so far commercially available.  I am about to the point of photographing existing siding on some buildings and spending some time in photoshop to create my own paper siding.

Thanks- PKS

modeling N scale rivets

Does anyone have a good way of modeling N scale rivets?   I have just started modeling in N scale and am in the process of modeling a water treatment plant and water storage tank.  Sure would be nice to finish these tanks off with rivets.
