Touch up colors for Santa Fe diesels?

I'm looking for paint recommendations to match an HO Proto 2000 GP60 and an Athearn CF7, both in Santa Fe blue and yellow. The blues on the two models look quite different to my eyes, but the yellows seem very close. When I finish adding details they'll both be weathered, so touch-up paint doesn't have to be an absolutely perfect match, but closer is better. Thanks for any help.

Source material

I have been doing some research on the line I want to model, the MC from Owosso Michigan to Paines, Mi.  Here are a few of the things I have found so far.  The Canada Southern site has some great timetables, maybe 1949 will be my year because there are a lot of tables available for my route in that year.  The beaded bells site is great as well, I definitely want to include the town of Henderson on my layout, this site has pictures and stories about many of the downtown buildings, which were trackside.  I am also preparing the layout rooms, almost done re-wiring the la

Hoses

I'm in the process of detailing the interior of a small HOn3 roundhouse. Two things I am having difficulty with.

The first is modeling coiled up air and water hoses to hang on columns. I have tried several types of wire and fishing line to create the coiled hoses, but nothing will hold shape or look correct.

Jeager lumber yard wraps

I purchased a HO Jeager lumber yard detailing kit a while ago and the wraps for the blocks have me stumped! I have tried just about every fold this, fold that with no luck. I would appreciate any input from those who might have worked with this kit before. Thank you in advance and I am glad I found this web site / magazine.

Is it just me or............

..............is the economy of modeling (at least in O scale) picking up?

As many of you might recall, I lost my layout to a fire a couple of years back.  Prior to a move to a new location and starting on a layout, I started purchasing items including structure kits as well as some built ups and rolling stock for both O standard and On30.  Here are some examples of what I found:

Red Caboose 42 ft flats I bought a number of for between $18 and $28.  I bid on one last week but it sold for $42.

Burlington Northern Nelson Sub.Layout Update

Here's a first of hopefully many layout updates on my HO Burlington Northern Nelson Subdivision in North Eastern Washington. The layout is based on the prototypical branch of the Burlington Northern From Kettle Falls,Washington to Nelson, British Columbia. The layout is going to be 13x15 feet shelf layout with a peninsula in the middle. The layout is going to depict the 1980's.

Cold Storage...

I have had time to get some more done on the cold storage facility, but the more I looked at it, the more I decided I wanted to add another door.  Now it has gone from 30" to 38" long, and it means that I nee to re-do the long section of the photo pasteup.  I will be able to use the old one as a source of relief details.
