Double header on the Cumbres and Toltec... Advice?
This might be a little off topic, let me know if does not belong here.
Hi everyone. Not to make others jealous but I am going to the Cumbres & Toltec for the first time this Memorial Day weekend. They have a double header going on this weekend and it will be my first train ride in nearly five years, the last being across Norway. I am taking my wife and daughter of 10 months on the out and back from Chama.
Traveling to western Oregon
Traveling in the western Oregon area next week, any suggestions on hobby shops or prototype railroad locations in that region would be appreciated.
Thanks,

Shoshoni Valley RR Comes Back to Life
It has been almost 2 1/2 years since I have had a MR. Tore down the last one when we put our old house up for sale because we needed to get a smaller one. A bit of modeling history.

Model Train Clubs
Is there a protocol to visiting a club for the first time? I mean, I don't want to be rude... does one need an invite by a member? Is there anything a person should, or should not bring? If the club is also a museum, should a person just visit the museum a few times first? Is there maybe someplace with a sort of protocol guide to model train clubs?

Wiring Walthers LED Traffic Signals with DPDT - Need Some Help
Greetings,
I posted a thread a few weeks ago about how I am wanting to have a grade crossing protected by traffic signals that the crew can switch to either let the railroad or the auto traffic have control of the crossing. Here is a link to that thread:

Kids & Model RR's
Kids & model RR's: Does anyone have ideas about how to have a 3 year old coexist with a model RR? PLEASE!
Why not a "Thanks" or "Like" button?
Any way the forum could accommodate a "Thanks" or "Like" button? Many times I peruse posts and want to give the author a thumbs-up for something, but I don't want to add a "me-too" post.
Simply clicking on a "Thanks for this useful post" or a "Like" button would leave my username under the specific post indicating that I appreciate what they've done or agree with something they've said.
Just an idea . . .
